Four must-see places to discover Zacatlán de las Manzanas

Puebla is a state full of beauty, culture, tradition and nature, with incredible places to visit, eat and enjoy the warmth of its people, among these points are the wonderful Magical Towns.

Did you know that Puebla has 10 Magical Towns? Maybe you didn't know about them, but don't worry, it's never too late to discover them.

Nestled in the lush Sierra Norte is Zacatlán de las Manzanas, one of the Magical Towns of Puebla, surrounded by spectacular mountains, the climate of Zacatlán makes you feel among the clouds when the mist falls. The two-hour drive from the city of Puebla or Mexico City, will take you to this town that offers spectacular scenery as a preamble to the experience you will enjoy.

To make your experience complete, we recommend four places you can't miss in Zacatlán de las Manzanas.

1.- Crystal Viewpoint

A great place to admire the beautiful sunset and feel like you are in the clouds is the Mirador de Cristal in Zacatlán. From here the Barranca de los Jilgueros looks spectacular, it is also the perfect spot to take the best pictures or share this moment with someone special. The viewpoint is open 24 hours a day and is free of charge, so make it an obligatory stop you can't miss.

2.-Tuliman Waterfalls

Another ecotourism option in this wonderful Magic Town is the Tuliman Waterfalls complex located 30 minutes from downtown Zacatlan, we guarantee that you will not regret it, as you can tour waterfalls surrounded by mountains, rivers and learn about the different species of trees in the area.

The park is open from Monday to Sunday from 9:00 to 17:00 hours and has a cost of 100 pesos (5 dollars approximately) for the general public and senior citizens, children pay only 50 pesos (2.5 dollars approximately).

We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes, since the walk is quite long. This place also has a mineral water pool that is very good for the skin, don't forget to bring your bathing suit.

If you are thinking of staying, you can rent one of the cabins or camp in the special area. If you don't have the experience to set up a tent, don't worry, there are staff that can help you and guide you in this adventure.

3.-Piedras Encimadas

If what you like is to take long walks and get lost in the middle of nature, 25 kilometers from downtown Zacatlán you can enjoy the Piedras Encimadas Valley where you will live a unique experience.

The rock formations to which it owes its name form spectacular figures that will blow your imagination, besides enjoying the scenery you can also have fun with different activities such as the zip line or the interactive farm. We recommend that this visit be accompanied to further enhance the experience, even your pet can participate in the tour, as it is allowed to enter the park, but you must abide by certain basic rules.

Something important is that there is no cost to enter the park, but if we want to support and keep it in perfect condition you can make a voluntary contribution or collaborate camping on site.

Visiting hours in summer are from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and in winter from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Remember that an excellent option is camping to live the full experience and enjoy nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

4.- Los Jilgueros Ravine

Very close to the center of Zacatlán you will find the majestic Barranca de los Jilgueros, an imposing natural attraction where you will find the waterfall of Las Tres Marías, formed by the waters coming from the Ajajalpan River.

For an adventurous spirit like yours, the hosts in this area have prepared various activities such as flying on a fourteen hundred meters long zip line. To enjoy this adventure, purchase your tickets at Zacatlán's main square, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Now that you know a little more about the charm of Zacatlán, are you ready to visit it? Remember that Zacatlán has much more to offer, when you visit it don't forget to taste its rich gastronomy, admire its streets and learn about its customs and traditions.

Puebla opens your senses, we are waiting for you to live a great experience.
